FAQ for aquatic treadmills.

Q: What is Aquatic Treadmill Therapy?

A: The device is a treadmill inside an open tank, which you can fill to the appropriate level for each individual horse. The treadmills are perfect for exercising, physiotherapy, or rehabilitation purposes.

Q: How it works?

A: Rehabilitation: Some animals become too frightened to use a certain limb after an injury, or surgery. The animal does not want to put weight on the limb if they have experienced traumatic events - in reality they can begin using that limb, but their instincts tell them that putting their weight on the limb will make the situation worse.

By using the water treadmills, you can restore the horse’s confidence when it comes to using their muscles. The water distributes the horse’s weight better, which gives the animal the confidence to use their limbs and speed up recovery.

A. Exercise: By using the treadmill for exercise, the horse will be able to reach optimum performance once their muscles reach their prime by the training without straining any joints.

A. Physiotherapy: The gentle and yet effective approach to exercising the muscles of the horse strengthens the muscular tissues without the strain of the horse’s own body weight accumulating on joints which would be counter-productive.

The increased range of motion in the joints when the horse is in the water treadmill will limber up movement, allowing for the gentle training of its tissue..
